No, the TZT and TZT2 use MapMedia Charts that can easily be downloaded to a common SD (TZT) or microSD (TZT2) card. Charts that require a license code purchase are quickly ordered from your Furuno Dealer. Furuno USA units come with an included chart card pre-loaded with many charts that can simply be unlocked with your license code. Many USA NOAA Raster/Vector, ACE Vector, and 3D bathy data charts are license free for the USA areas and ready to use out of the box.
