Give Your Catch A Serious 'Boost' With Furuno's New RezBoost Fish Finders!

Getting the latest fishing technology doesn't mean you have to break the bank.

Camas, WA, February 11, 2016 – For over 60 years, Furuno has been the industry leader in bringing acoustic innovations to market, winning the NMEA’s Best Fish Finder Award an unparalleled 44 times. Furuno’s success is clearly shown in the advanced features their recreational models boast, many of which are normally found only in far more costly commercial-grade fish finders. Features such as Bottom Discrimination technology, letting you see “inside” the seabed, and Accu-Fish, allowing you to determine the size and depth of individual fish beneath the boat, are perfect examples of Furuno technological breakthroughs that have a meaningful effect on your catch.

Now, Furuno proudly expands upon that history with the third generation of their extremely popular FCV588 and FCV628 series of Fish Finders, both incorporating advanced RezBoost technology for the first time in a stand-alone Fish Finder.

First introduced in 2015, RezBoost is a game-changer for fisherman desiring the best possible performance and picture from a traditional transducer. RezBoost is a revolutionary signal processing technology that improves resolution and target separation when using conventional narrowband transducers. Compared to conventional signal processing techniques, a RezBoost Fish Finder produces an image that is up to 8 times sharper. With RezBoostTM, not only can you expect higher resolution and crisper targets, but also improvements in your ability to discriminate individual game fish surrounding bait balls, as well as fish close to the seabed. Turn on the white line feature and fish sitting on the seafloor jump right off the screen with high-contrast color against the white line.

Furuno's new Fish Finder lineup consists of two models. The FCV628 (600W 50/200kHz) offers a 5.6" color LCD, while the FCV588 (600W/1kW 50/200kHz) has a larger 8.4" screen. These Fish Finders have the same look and footprint as their predecessors, the FCV620/FCV627 and FCV585/FCV587, making retrofit a breeze. Simply pull out the old display and drop in the new one.

When connected to an appropriate transducer, the Bottom Discrimination function enables the Fish Finder to indicate whether the bottom is composed mainly of rocks, gravel, sand or mud. Bottom Discrimination provides valuable information that helps you locate rich fishing grounds, and boost your daily catch.

In addition to Bottom Discrimination, these Fish Finders feature Furuno’s Accu-Fish feature, a revolutionary fish size assessment function that can tell you the approximate size of the fish and depth below your boat. Fish symbols appear on the screen, along with the size of the fish or the depth where it found the fish. It can detect fish size from 4 inches up to about 6 feet long, in depths of 7 feet to well over 300 feet of water. Accu-Fish signal processing blends the high and low frequencies to depict fish targets of all types simply, clearly and distinctly. Now, fishermen can clearly and easily distinguish big billfish around a bait ball, or see through bait and trash fish on the surface to target "the big one" below.

These units also offer Furuno’s Post-Processing Gain Control, a feature that was previously only found on their larger, commercial-grade Fish Finders. Post-Processing Gain adjusts the gain throughout the entire screen, allowing you to really “dial-in” the Fish Finder’s history, and then come back to get the fish that others may have missed.

Getting the latest fishing technology doesn't mean you have to break the bank. These latest offerings from Furuno bring you incredibly helpful features with RezBoost, Bottom Discrimination, Accu-Fish and Post-Processing Gain that will help you find more fish. Combine these new features with Furuno's award-winning Fish Finder technology and you have two great options to upgrade your boat and fish count, without having to replace your current transducer.
