The inaugural Best Elex Awards honors standout marine electronics that have been reviewed and approved by the editorial staff of Boating, Yachting, Cruising World, and Salt Water Sportsman magazines.

Camas, WA - Furuno's new 9" TZtouch3 MFD, the TZT9F has been selected by Bonnier Media as their 2021 Best Elex Award winner for Leading Edge Technology. The inaugural Best Elex Awards honors standout marine electronics that have been reviewed and approved by Bonnier’s editorial staff. Over the course of two months, the nominees were evaluated by a team of eight judges that include the electronics editors and editors-in-chief of Boating, Yachting, Cruising World, and Salt Water Sportsman magazines. This team of experienced marine electronics writers and editors recognized the Hybrid Control TZT9F as the Leading Edge Technology winner due to its dazzling array of features.

“This smaller version of TZtouch3 delivers so many of the best features of its bigger brothers. The edge-swiping interface, in particular, puts all of your most important functions within quick reach. The built-in 1 kW CHIRP fish finder that’s frequency-agile is a big plus for anglers, as is the ability to lock the MFD with a passcode.”

Introduced in November 2020, the TZT9F is a new, smaller MFD that packs the power of NavNet TZtouch3 into a 9” IPS display, suitable for smaller helms, flybridges, and second stations. Similar to the popular 12" TZT12F, the Hybrid Control TZT9F includes a multi touch display with an integrated control panel that features Furuno’s intuitive RotoKey™ and dedicated physical buttons. A powerful quad-core processor takes NavNet's TimeZero technology to the next level, offering 4-way split-screen displays and lightning-fast response time. Furuno has endeavored to make NavNet TZtouch3 the easiest to use MFD available with edge swiping that makes finding what you need a breeze. The TZT9F allows you to view or hide navigation data, see all of your shortcuts, view layer options, or access Quick Pages (custom screen configurations) quickly and easily. A single tap selects most options, so you're never more than a swipe and tap away from the most commonly accessed features.

The TZT9F includes a built-in 1kW, single-channel TruEcho CHIRP™ Fish Finder, delivering significant advantages in signal clarity & target definition. A traditional CW 50/200kHz RezBoost Fish Finder is also included.

The TZT9F allows mariners to customize their helm to build the perfect navigation suite with award-winning DRS Radars, both built-in and optional black box Fish Finder selections, Multi Beam Sonar, AIS and VHF, NavPilot Autopilots, Satellite Compasses, and multiple weather options. Furuno’s power-packed NXT Solid-State Doppler Radars deliver high-powered, state-of-the-art Radar features to TZtouch3, and a wide selection of dome and open array models in both magnetron and Solid-State configurations ensures there is a Radar to meet the needs of every vessel.

“Furuno is honored to receive the inaugural 2021 Best Elex Award for Leading Edge Technology,” stated Brad Reents, President of Furuno USA. “Our team of R&D experts set a goal to make TZtouch3 the easiest to use while setting the bar for features and functionality. Winning “Leading Edge Technology” is confirmation that we accomplished that goal.”

Mariners with smaller helms or limited space on the flybridge should take a serious look at going on a power trip with Furuno and their all-new NavNet TZtouch3 TZT9F. For more information on Furuno's complete line of Marine Electronics, visit their web sites at www.FurunoUSA.com or www.NavNet.com.
