RD33 + GP33 - Relatives That Actually Get Along!

Information Overload - that’s what they call it. You have data coming at you from sensors all over the boat. Your GPS/Chart Plotter, your Radar, your Autopilot, your Depth Finder, your Wind Sensor and Ultrasonic Weather Station, your Engine Monitoring Systems – all of them have information to share about your voyage, and all of it is important. With a screen for every sensor, you may find yourself constantly scanning the helm trying to take in every last bit of information scattered over many different displays. If this has ever happened to you, you may be suffering from Information Overload.

Adding to this complexity, the NMEA2000 protocol has become more prevalent in both new installations and retrofits. It is common for many boats to have a mix of NMEA0183 and NMEA2000 devices onboard, making communication between systems challenging, to say the least. It has become apparent that a new “standard” in navigation data organization is necessary. Fortunately, Furuno has come to your information rescue! Enter the RD33 Navigation Data Organizer and GP33 GPS/WAAS Navigator from Furuno!

With the RD33, Furuno takes the advanced features of the RD30, adds more new data pages and networking capabilities, and wraps it all up in a compact, waterproof unit that features a 4.3” color LCD display. Because the RD33 is a capable NMEA0183 and NMEA2000 device, you can use it to bridge both data formats and output the information you desire, in whatever format you desire, to the rest of your onboard network!

To really give Information Overload the 1-2 punch, pair the RD33 with the cosmetically matching GP33 GPS Navigator, featuring a 12-channel GPS/WAAS sensor and impressive memory capabilities. The GP33 uses Furuno's CAN bus interface system for feeding highly accurate navigation data to your onboard systems. Simply connect any CAN bus device onto the NMEA2000 backbone cable to expand your onboard network. Of course, the GP33 also supports NMEA0183.

Displaying a wide variety of numerical and graphical data in easy-to-read formats that you can see from a distance is the key to organizing your onboard information. With the RD33 and GP33, you can customize the displays to show large numbers or, if you prefer the look of traditional analog guages, you can display those as well. You decide what information is important to you, and that’s what you’ll see with every glance. The RD33 and GP33 - two compact units that pack a big punch when it comes to avoiding Information Overload!
